Two-thirds of women in Bangladesh, around 66%, have been victims of domestic violence— and statistics indicate that 72.7% of the women who have experienced domestic abuse never shared their experiences with others. According to research, most women in Bangladesh suffer from chronic abuse, torture, and violence in their homes. In addition to torture which causes serious physical injury- domestic violence also takes other forms such as emotional abuse and marital rape.  A tiny fraction of these women inform local leaders about their experiences or seek help from the police. Four out of every five cases, brought before the court by women, are related to violence, according to various studies. There is very little chance that the court will rule in favor of the victim and in most cases the court will dismiss a case and release a perpetrator – studies say. On 21st of February in 1952 Pakistan authorities, refusing to grant Bangla --- the language spoken by people in the then East Pakistan --- let loose police to brutally thwart a movement by Bengalis over demand that Bangla become a state language. Several lives had been lost - students and others - in that savagery which eventually achieved Bangla its due honour in Pakistan and later the glory of International Mother Language. It was followed by cries of mothers who lost their children, hopelessness of women who lost their husbands, and others who lost their future in hands of political terrorists.

Nirbhaya is an Indian word which means "Fearless". It is a word for a woman who is brave and fearless. The term became popular after the 2012 Delhi Gang Rape incident which took the life of a Girl. She was given the title Nirbhaya for being strong and fighting till her last breath. In compliance with Indian law, the real name of the victim was initially not released to the media, so pseudonyms were used for her by various media houses instead, including Jagruti ("awareness"), Jyoti ("flame"), Amanat ("treasure"), Nirbhaya ("fearless one"), Damini ("lightning") and Delhi braveheart. > The 2012 Delhi gang rape case involved a rape and fatal assault that occurred on 16 December 2012 in South Delhi, India. The incident took place when a 23-year-old female physiotherapy intern, Jyoti Singh Pandey, was beaten, gang raped, and tortured in a private bus in which she was traveling with her friend. There were six othe
